This post is one of my favorites to do, hence why I’m now on round 7! I really enjoy going through the hundreds of books that I have saved on my TBR on Goodreads to see if I’m still interested in them. There are tons of books that I completely forgot about that I really want to give a shot. I’m even thinking about designating a whole month to reading just books that I’ve kept in these posts! Let me know if that is something you’re interested in!

The Rules:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
- Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!
one. THE MUSEUM OF INTANGIBLE THINGS BY WENDY WUNDER
I’ve been eyeing this book for literally years. The cover is gorgeous and I am a sucker for best friends road trip stories. However now, I don’t think I’m really feeling it. There are other books that are higher on my radar that I would rather get to.
two. ATTACHMENTS BY RAINBOW ROWELL
I’m honestly on the fence with this one? I’ve read two books from this author, Fangirl and Eleanor & Park, and thought they were mediocre? I mostly found Eleanor & Park problematic but that is a story for another day. I think I’m going to toss this for now but if I’m bored and am in the mood to listen to this on audiobook, then I may give it a go.
three. ALL THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE BY ANTHONY DOERR
This book is an obvious keep. I’m seriously kicking myself that I haven’t read this book yet. I’ve read the first 30 or so pages months ago but never went back to pick it up. I will read this book before 2019 is over!
four. I’VE GOT YOUR NUMBER BY SOPHIE KINSELLA
Kinsella is a favorite author of mine and I will read everything she puts out. I’m really behind in her work though so this is one of the few that I need to catch up on! I’m sure it’ll be hilarious and amazing just like the rest of her work.
five. MISS PEREGRINE’S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN BY RANDOM RIGGS
I’m giving this book the boot. The plot is really interesting and I love the actual pictures spread throughout the book. I gave this book a shot years back but couldn’t get passed the first 20 pages or so because I was incredibly bored. Super hate that but what can ya do?
six. A DARKER SHADE OF MAGIC BY V.E. SCHWAB
I literally just checked this out from the library so this will be happening in March. I’m super excited and I really, really hope it lives up to the hype. I can’t wait to finally meet the legendary Lila Bard!
seven. THE INTERESTINGS BY MEG WOLITZER
This book stood out to be at the book store while I was simply browsing. I picked it up on a whim without researching it any. It sounded super interesting (pun intended) and I couldn’t get over how much I loved the cover. But that was 3 years ago and now…I’m not that interested. I’m adding this to my “May Listen on Audio” list.
eight. THE FINAL EMPIRE BY BRANDON SANDERSON
Ok, ok. Hear me out before I am completely shunned from the book community. I do want to read this. Someday. But at this moment in time, I’m not interested in super extreme high fantasy such as this series….or most Brandon Sanderson books. This will happen eventually but just not in the forseeable future. I’m sorry!!!
nine. CALLING ME HOME BY JULIE KIBLER
I’ve had a copy of this on my Kindle for ages and it sounds like a heartbreakingly beautiful story. My favorite genre (if you didn’t know) is historical fiction and this book seems right up my alley. Definitely keeping. I’ve actually been thinking about this book a lot lately for some reason, so I think this is the sign that I should be reading it sooner rather than later!
ten. WHERE THE ROAD TAKES ME BY JAY MCLEAN
The synopsis and the red convertible immediately made me think of Peyton and Lucas from One Tree Hill. While that does intrigue me, I don’t think I’m interested in this book anymore. I don’t think it’ll be life changing or will become an instant fave, so no need to read it. Sorry Jay!
BOOKS TOSSED SO FAR: 34
I think this round went pretty great! I know I ended up tossing a lot of people’s favorites (oops) but I think we can all agree that it is better for me to not read it period instead of reading it, hating it and then bashing it and losing friends cause that’s no fun, now is it?
Let me know if you’ve read any of these books and what you think! Did I make a mistake and keep a book I should have tossed? Tell me!
